Ice Rink FAQ

We’ve received lots of enquiries about our festive ice rink, so we’ve put together this guide to hopefully answer all your questions. If there’s anything else you’d like to know, please don’t hesitate to get in touch.

FAQ

1. When is the ice rink open?

The ice rink is open from Thursday 11th December to Sunday 21st December.

  • Monday – Saturday: 11am – 5pm

  • Thursday late nights (11th & 18th): 1pm – 7pm

  • Sunday: 10am – 4pm

2. Is the rink free to use?

Yes! The ice rink is completely free for everyone to enjoy. Our team will be collecting donations for our Charity of the Year – Northam Care Trust, and if you can we kindly ask that you donate to support this great cause.

3. Do I need to book?

No - no booking is required. Simply turn up during opening hours. 

During busy periods, you may be expected to queue. Please be patient with our team as they help everyone enjoy the rink safely.

4. How long can I use the rink for?

Each visitor is allowed 30 minutes of total rink time, including skate fitting.

This helps ensure fair access for everyone.

5. What type of rink is it?

It is a high-quality artificial ice rink, offering a smooth and enjoyable skating experience.

6. Are skates provided?

Yes, skates are free to borrow. You are welcome to bring your own suitable skates if preferred.

7. Are skate aids available?

Yes - we have 6 skate aids, available on a first-come, first-served basis.

8. Is the rink suitable for children?

Yes! Children of all ages 4 and above are welcome. Young children must be supervised by an adult.

9. Can spectators watch?

Yes, spectators are welcome and can watch safely from the amphitheatre area.

10. Are refreshments available?

Costa and Cornish Bakery are located nearby, so you can grab a hot drink or snack before or after your session.

11. What if it rains?

The rink is not undercover, but operates in most weather conditions. If conditions become unsafe, sessions may be paused temporarily.
